From 28 March to 11 April, M. D. Benoit will be going on a virtual book tour to promote her upcoming alternate reality novel, Synergy. During that period, ten people will host her on their blog for one day. There will be discussions on the book, Synergy, its themes, characters, interviews with the author, reviews of the book, etc.

Every day, on her own blog, Life’s Weirder than Fiction, she will announce where she will be that day, as well as talk a bit about her host.

My editor told me yesterday that another story of mine will be published this July, if everything goes well.

I entitled the story “Diseases and Sins”, but that title will change, so stay tuned for the new one.

Diseases and Sins is the first book in a thematic trilogy based on genetic engineering. It deals with genetic warfare. Torver, a young man who can travel people’s lifepaths in his mind, is also a geneticist who develops the cure for a deadly disease, which can also be turned into a gene-specific weapon, which both government and a “bad guy” covet. Demetria, a woman who can step into her own visions, is the only one who can sense Torver and help him develop his genetic cure. Together they will enter the world of illegal genetic manipulation to save a child’s life.

The story is fairly complex, but a good one, I hope. I got the idea from an article I read a few years ago. Israel has put some of its best geneticists to work on finding the “arab gene” in order to make a gene-specific weapon that would target arabs only. The idea is pretty ludicrous per se, but the intention isn’t. My what if question was: what if it could be done?
